Sweet Melissa Honey & Hive began in 2018, but the dream began decades ago.  Bill and Melissa Wrin are beekeepers and makers from Fishers, Indiana. Melissa (Greek word for honeybee) has always loved honey bees and began dreaming of opening a shop with the name The Honeybee Hive years ago.  Through many twists and turns, the business idea has changed, but the mission of Sweet Melissa Honey & Hive is one Melissa is very passionate about.

We believe you shouldn’t have to worry about the ingredients in your skin care products and they should be safe enough to use on your baby.

In late 2016/early 2017 Bill’s fascination with bees began.  In the Spring of 2017 we ordered our first bees and became beekeepers.  Bill suggested using the beeswax for crafts. Melissa, a Pinterest lover, began searching for products to try.  Lip balm, paw balm, beeswax wraps, and lotion bars were among the first products created.

A few months earlier, their daughter who was eight at the time suffered a grand mal seizure in her sleep.  Melissa, a Registered Dietitian, was already searching for healthier products not only for her family to eat, but to use in their home.  High on the list were personal care products. Research shows the average women puts over 500 chemicals on her body each day. A mission to live healthier was born.  Knowing that what we eat and put on our skin affects our health was a driving force to change.

As customer testimonials began pouring in, Bill and Melissa knew they were onto something.  People love supporting local, small businesses, but even better is when the products are helping people overcome problems they’ve dealt with for decades.  From eczema to keratosis pilaris, customers are finally finding an all natural product that works and is very affordable.

New products are in the works including all natural sunscreen, bug repellent balm, eye cream, heel balm, muscle rub, itch balm, headache balm, acne balm, beard balm, and bum balm.
